We are less than 24 hours away from the NHL trade deadline, and the Colorado Avalanche aren’t done just yet. On the heels of a wild Wednesday that saw Colorado acquire Sean Walker and Casey Mittelstadt, the Avalanche have also now acquired forward Brandon Duhaime from the Minnesota Wild in exchange for a 2026 third-round pick.

The 26-year-old forward has logged just four goals and four assists in 62 games for a total of eight points this season with the Wild. He carries a cap hit of $1,100,000 million and is set to become an unrestricted free agent at the end of this season.

With this move, Colorado continues to bolster its depth after making a huge splash yesterday. They still have just south of $4 million worth of cap space to play with, which is a decent amount. We’ll see if any more moves are imminent before Friday.
